D. Andrew Stevenson, M.B.A., Executive Director, Project Leadership and Business Development
Andrew Stevenson, M.B.A., joined SJTRI in 2008 as executive director, project leadership and business development. Stevenson provides guidance and support to the operations of the organization and has been instrumental in SJTRI’s move to the new, 32,000-square-foot preclinical facility in midtown Atlanta. Prior to joining SJTRI, Stevenson spent more than a decade in pharmaceutical management and strategic planning. Most recently, he was a director at Tikvah Therapeutics, Inc. in Atlanta, where he provided strategic guidance on financing, partnerships, licensing agreements and business development. Prior to that, he was with Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Marietta, Ga., where he directed portfolios of national and global projects; identified, pursued and negotiated more than $300 million in U.S. government contracts, achieving the 2005-2006 Solvay Global Innovation award and the Georgia Bio 2007 Strategic Transaction of the Year (Large Company) award; managed a 200 acre-site selection for a manufacturing facility; and led four product launches. Prior to that he was with Bristol-Myers Squibb/Du Pont where he developed and expanded a new research and development department. Stevenson received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Davidson College, Davidson, N.C. and master’s in business administration in international business from the University of Delaware, Newark, Del.
